But my experience with any device utilizing foldable screen tech is that it has yet to defy simple physics. Anything folded and unfolded repeatedly over time degrades and weakens. And so the screens peel, lose pixels, get permanent damage, etc.

My anecdotal memory feels apple mostly does existing ideas better. I couldnβt name any truly original apple product tbh, though i havnβt been trying

They are expensive and targeted for a specific audience.
And apple tends to make things even more expensive (remember the apple vision?).
