Thats an example of why they focus on IP movies. Nothing pulled you into the cinema all year.
I'm not saying it's smart, or creatively satisfying to focus on IP, but I understand why.

There are a lot of great films, but in more limited release. They just don't spend the money to market them.

It makes sense. But I just don't want to see they ruin IPs. There are good and bad sequel. There are high chance people mess up a IPs with long history. The quality control mess up so bad sometimes make you feel they don't really care the IPs at all but only want some quick cash.
