it would've been better if they didn't spoil the Red Hulk reveal in the trailers; the movie was clearly written in such a way where that was supposed to be a 'surprise' - even if we knew it was possible - to Not Know - then suddenly it happens - would've been great for the audience imo -
See, these ratings make me think people care more about the number of capes on the screen than the content of the movie. I love Marvel stuff, but these scores feel… off.
I really hope for Mackie’s next cap movie they give him a better script because it felt like they just tossed him into a hulk movie when I honestly think a smaller story that was more about the public accepting him as cap in uncertain times with a power vacuum left by the avengers, would’ve been cool
I enjoyed the film a lot, it doesn't deserve the criticism it is getting. It may not be the best Captain America movie, but it is not a bad Marvel one. People just hate for the sake of it
I always hear mixed opinions on this movie, but I think the gist of it is that it's decent with a lot of missed or messed up opportunities to improve it
Odd.
I'd put the first Cpt. America movie higher than the other ones personally. Then again, I honestly loved the first Thor movie, Iron Man Movie, and Doctor Strange movie more than most sequels.
IMO, the only good one was Civil War just because of the internal drama within the Avengers. The rest were boring to me.
I haven’t watched the newest one yet, I do like that they brought out red hulk. Can’t wait to see that!
I said in another comment that while this isn't my favorite Cap movie, I think it was still a pretty fun MCU movie. I think somewhere between mid 70s to 80s is a proper score in my opinion
It just proves that the audience is not to be trusted when it comes to quality like critics who do this as a professional job and have honed their craft
And ultimately critics are just people with opinions. They may be better at putting said opinions into words and sometimes have better media literacy but they’re still giving us a subjective opinion at the end of the day.
The point is that critics’ opinions aren’t the thing that matters at the end of the day. What matters is the box office numbers and if audiences like a film and see it. You can be a film snob all you want and listen exclusively to critics but people are gonna like what they like 🤷♂️
I never judge anything off of what other people say. Most people I know, aren't that intelligent; so their views of things are not the same as mine; just like art ... two people can view the same picture and have completely different ideas of what's happening in that painting - Movies are like Art
The general consensus seems to be that Love and Thunder is the worst MCU movie. I only saw it the one time in theater, but I definitely liked CA:BNW more. I've rewatched Dark World a few times, and yeah, it's still pretty low on my list as well
That is not the general consensus. Dark World and any of the Hulk films are considered generally far worse. And Iron Man 2 is also a bit of a stinker as well.
Nah, I disagree. I've never seen hatred for an MCU movie like I did for L&T, and I've been watching since the beginning. Like, people didn't LIKE Hulk and Thor 2, but not to the extent of Thor Four
Awwwww, I really wanted this to be a mega-hit (but the February release was my first clue that the studio might not have confidence in it). I’m going to see it anyway though ☺️
the February release, was to coincide with Black History Month; similar to the original Black Panther, which also was released in February - for the same reason - that film did pretty well

The only thing it tells you is broadly how assorted critics and the general public felt about it. Look into reviews and discussions. Dig into the WHY.
Two super soldiers.
New Cap has no powers. It's a bit crazy.
I'd put the first Cpt. America movie higher than the other ones personally. Then again, I honestly loved the first Thor movie, Iron Man Movie, and Doctor Strange movie more than most sequels.

Poor editing — there is a decent plot in there, but the pacing is all over the place.
It’s just not a well-written or well-directed movie. Nothing to do with the ethnicity of any of the characters.
Haven't seen the newest cap movie, but can't base a single thing off that audience score.
Also fuck Sabra.
