this kind of gaming the algorithm has absolutely no impact on a video performance, especially at the scale of views he gets. You're better to either ignore it or try to make your own video/content that can perhaps challenge or debunk some of these claims.

I'd also suggest that instead of using a direct link, engage with that video from a feed or similar videos list, so the algo would 'think' a person stumbled upon it and found it irrelevant/uninteresting, so it would slow down on suggesting it to other users since it does not generate engagement.

Yeah, most of YT traffic generate inside YT itself, so clicking the thumbnail from a YT search would appear more "organic"
