Just saw that Trump's latest executive order is going after antidepressants. This makes me so angry. You can pry my prozac from my cold dead hands. #ExecutiveOrderMyAss

Antidepressants are manufactured by Eli Lilly, Pfizer, Glaxo SmithKline, Sanofi, and AstraZeneca among others. The chances that those companies will allow sales to be throttled are slim and none, and they pay enough people to look out for them. This is where RFK's talk meets reality.
It’s another way to go after trans kids. Take away their gender affirming care and then take away the meds for the depression and anxiety they experience. It is trying to get people to kill themselves.
I guess the main issue is that it’s Trump, so it can’t be trusted. But if it were someone sane I wouldn’t assume completely cancelling the availability of all of those things but rather looking into issues of informed consent (full side effects) & overprescribing, which would be sensible.
Why do we need to "assess the prevalence of" these medication prescriptions? We have these data already.
This whole document is full of words and phrases that real scientists would use (e.g., I also saw "gold standard" thrown in there with regards to the NIH) but it's total word salad.
How many decades has public health promoted ‘healthy eating’ and ‘healthy lifestyles’ as the answer to chronic disease?
Several decades with zero influence on disease.
RFK Jr. has frequently said he wants to go after food additives, junk food etc. I figured that's nice, but Kraft, Frito-Lay, Coca Cola etc., have a stable of lobbyists and paid congresspeople who will make sure his "healthy" talk doesn't interfere with their sales or profits.
This part seems to be about children's health, though, either way, it's wrong. And scary.
Enough of us have (literally) had our lives saved by antidepressants, and this is ridiculous, and anti-science, anti-medicine, & anti-health-care professionals.
I'm already skipping every 3rd day in order to stockpile. My insurance co already arbitrarily decided last year that I only get 183 pills/year. (The rest i have to buy out of pocket).
If this fucks with my ability to get my kid’s epilepsy medication, I am going to be a force to be reckoned with. She HAS to have that medication to live.
its fucked up because i see now the other grift taking shape that by taking on 'big pharma' they really gonna be going after generics to squeeze us in yet another way

This is going to end violently and they’re the cause
