Oooo, Revere Ware here too, got a wedding present set. And I have a couple of my mom's. When she got upset she would polish the copper bottoms until they shone. There were years when I was a kid that they were blindingly bright, there were some tough years at home then.
Mine includes my momβs but she also gifted me my own as a college graduation gift.
I in turn gave my parents Wusthof tridents for an anniversary once I was making the cheddar, a penny taped to each blade for luck.
I have dropped one down brick stairs and it didnβt even crack. Solid gold. I will have mine til I die and someone else gets a turn to pick them up at my estate sale.
We have a similar set of cookware that were handed down to us from my husband's mother. Despite all the fancy cookware I've bought from Williams Sonoma, etc., we still use his mom's cookware as well.
I think you're right. I've got my mom's and some I got for wedding gifts when dinosaurs roamed the earth. Think I'll put all my Pyrex and Anchor Hocking in my will, lol.
Sadly, yes. The Anchor Hocking canning lids are sh*t from China now, ruined a whole batch of quince marmalade when they didn't 'pop' after processing. Never again.
I actually still have 1. I've been married 30 years & my husband had it when we got married & it had been his Mother's pot & she was already dead. So yeah...it will out live us all.

I'm glad you put the penny in with each knife.
The gift shop rocks.
My cremains will rest for eternity in my momβs cornflower pot
