I get the sentiment here but having girls leagues is very important to help keep girls interested in them. It would be catastrophically detrimental to the participation of women in sports. Its a proven reality. Even Chess requires a women's division or else way less women would participate.

Sports are not as appealing to (most) women if they have to compete with other men. So more choose to not even participate when theres no where else to go.

See, that's not what I get the feel from working in HS sports - the YL's I've all worked with will seek out and take the chances to take down the guys. It's the guys that are icky about it.

There are women who want to compete at the highest levels. But a lot also say that as a point of pride with their teams, knowing their on their womens team.

This has been proven across many districts that remove womens sports and integrate. The girls participation drops heavily.
