Um.... be aware, they're only open 10AM-6PM PST M-F and have long waits. If you need support after hours, I suggest Trevor Project! They have more staff on the phones too! 1-866-488-7386
Out live the bastards. The most powerful thing we can do!
Iβll out live them, you should do it with me. You can pet Effy. Weβll have fun, Thatβll really show em!
Hopefully this one is actually good cause the one time I called the existing one they sounded mad at me for calling, actually huffed into the phone at one point
Tried calling just to get help resources and all the other end kept asking was if had πͺ in house. Even tho needed them to support others all they wanted was to send π to arrest the one trying to help others.
BTW - they had no help. They had no help in sx and only wanted to turn in. Best to 911.
Would be amazing if you could go back in and edit after the fact if you forgot

I used to volunteer as an operator for them when they first started (back when they were still 24/7). The only reason I funnel people to Trevor Project now is because TP is 24/7. TLL is 10AM-6PM PST M-F. The most severe calls are at like 3AM after bars close and people are alone with their thoughts.
I learned my lesson I never ever do anything that could get me in a 72 hour hold. I spent a summer as a kid in the pajama factory, I never wanna go back.
Yep they arent obligated to like most crisis lines because they receive no govement grants. On top of that you're guaranteed to get another trans person to speak with since the entire crisis line is operated by people under the transgender umbrella.
Why would anyone call 988? Esp if trans? Local police will show up- place in cuffs and put in mental institution.
Better off seeking safe help from friends that care or go to the local clinic you trust.
People that hate you guys want to see you gone, so I beg you all to stay alive even if just to spite them and prove them wrong. Together we are all LGBT and we won't go away. No matter how unsafe they make it.
The most important thing to know about Trans lifeline is its run entirely by trans and nonbinary people so you will always get a trans person to speak with who understands what you are going though. And because they are not govement funded they are not obligated to call the cops in crisis either.
You're welcome! I've worked with them for a few charity events and they are wonderful and do so much good work in this world helping trans folk in crisis situations.
Thank you. Iβm trans & yes, I have βbeen there.β I know Iβll have issues with it again esp now. Help lines specifically for trans & NB ppl are vital. I also deal with a complex PTSD from βconversion therapyβ I received w/o my parents consent as a 7 yo kid. Iβm 52 & still have severe issues w/ it.
I am so sorry that you had to go through such a horrible experience. I canβt understand how a parent could do that to their child. Hugs to you sweetie.
But thatβs just it. My parents had no idea. It was in a medical setting. A center in Baltimore, MD called the Kennedy Krieger Inst. Itβs part of Johns Hopkins Uni Dept of Psych. What happened to me was bc of the person who was in charge, Dr Paul R McHugh. This treatment was typical from his staff.

it's in settings > accessibility

Mental healthcare is NOT a criminal offense

it's a very powerful, very blunt, very heartfelt message that anybody with any urge to end themselves should hear
there's a setting to remind you. though it won't let you post at all without it.
