I think that one of the barriers to people thinking of Die Hard as a Christmas movie is its name. I think all it needs is a more Christmasy title. How about... "Dielent Night"

I’ve always said the difference between a Christmas movie and a movie that takes place at Christmas time is one test: Does watching it at other times of the year seem weird or awkward? If so, it’s not. Christmas movie. Watching Polar Express in June- weird. Watching Die Hard in June not so much.
Miracle on 34th Street was originally released in June of 1947. Now it seems weird to watch it any other time of year, but there will soon come a day when content libraries exceed our ability to cram all of our holiday viewing into two months.
One of the biggest barriers to people thinking of die hard as a Christmas movie is that every single person who thinks it is will never shut up about how it is the best Christmas movie ever made
