Hooooleeeeey Shit. My friend is a professor at UT. He just got out of a staff meeting where they were advised by a Lawyer to not send anything that could be identified as DEI in their communications. THEN he said that goes for text messages over the UT Wifi as private texts can be pulled from it

I teach there and in the fall we were required to do a training module online forbidding us to do anything that could be construed as DEI or to encourage or require anyone else to do same. This was happening before the inaguration.

If you work in any public service role in TX, closely follow the Leg. They're in session until June. I work for a judicial branch agency that funds, etc. indigent defense. I'm preparing for some scary times ahead.

Sadly, I'm not surprised. Wasn't that around the same time the President resigned? I'm a lawyer/policy analyst at a state agency, but we're under the judiciary. Nevertheless, it's coming I fear.

No, I hadn't seen this. I live in DC and teach remotely in a post-grad certificate program, which is largely around social justice issues, so depending on how this rolls out, it could silence a critical piece of our program. Thanks for sharing this.

My agency provides funding, assistance, & monitoring for indigent defense programs in all 254 counties. DEI purges are coming for us, too, I fear.
