This sure feels like another piece driven by the oligarchs.
“Feel bad about liking Luigi! The robber baron he killed is more important than you; he was rich! You are monsters for not mourning the oligarch responsible for denying thousands their prescribed care.”
'Mangione’s social media presence... While he disliked corporate greed, he also had an affinity for the rightwing tycoon Peter Thiel, wrote a mostly positive review of the Unabomber’s manifesto and promoted arguments against government welfare programs.' Not exactly Robin Hood.
It seems to me that people from all political spectrums are supporting this hero. The media is portraying the dead mass murderer as some sort of innocent victim but he isn't. Denying life saving procedures to pocket obscene profits is murderer. Luigi brought justice where the State wouldn't.
I personally don't think this is right. I think the government with decent legislation, proper judicial procedures and law enforcement should prevent these healthcare vultures abuses and that what Luigi did is not right. But considering the current status quo he is a damn hero.
…used a gun that Republicans PROTECT and allow to run amok in this country
…to attack a health care system that Republicans DO NOTHING about…
…to kill a rich CEO that Republicans PROTECT… ALL at the expense of the poor & middle class.
Will Republicans ever look out for everyday people?
The only force that lionized Mangione is that he killed a disgusting piece of shit.
If he was an ugly black man, he would still be a folk hero.
You can't gaslight this. It's beyond your reach, The Guardian.
Considering that a whole swath of Americans don’t consider Italians white, race had little to do with it. He is celebrated even despite his stupid tech-bro politics. It’s the price-gouging healthcare system, dummy.
I just heard a woman on Tiktok explained she had insurance that fully covered prenatal care. When her pregnancy ended in a miscarriage, her insurance retroactively charged her for all prenatal care until then because it was no longer classified as a normal pregnancy and therefore not covered.
2/ In the comments, there are also a lot of women saying their premature childbirths and sudden miscarriages were not covered because they were “not pre-authorised”. If that doesn’t fill you with rage, there’s something wrong with you.
100% and and rape kits administered in hospitals aren't covered either...so women get raped again by their insurance company. I can't say I could vote to convict this guy regardless of his race and I don't find him attractive but that's just me.
Yet another outlet deliberately missing the point. You have your eyes and ears closed now but your flesh will feel the flames no matter how much you try to ignore reality when you're burning.
These BS news people keep dismissing the rage of the downtrodden people as some sort of frivolous infatuation with a pretty face. They are forgetting that millions were supporting The Adjuster within hours of the killing. They are trying to shame Luigi's supporters. DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!
Was that what we called French revolutionaries? The huge class warfare on the poor is the same, no matter how many times media tries to change the narrative, the CEO had sentenced thousands to death. He was a serial killer. The public is demanding it be told truthfully, CEOs are criminals few r good
You know the Guardian's takes on America seem like uninformed propaganda for the most part. Maybe they should work on fixing Britain first before offering their "unique" perspective.
A psyop designed.
The chaos and unrest ensues in America. He definitely was tuned & and activated, is my best guess. He definitely didn't work alone & likely is the 'designer' patsy to take the fall while he definitely hit a nerve 'the working class against the elites'.
Bad take & insulting to the huge number of people who've been impacted, sometimes by the preventable deaths of loved ones, by saying Mangione has captured the nation's attention bc of his race & appearance. He got support way before we knew who he was. At least you got RAGE right. 🙄
This isn’t about looks - the reaction is a reaction to an increasingly disparate economic and social climate that favours the wealthy.
Healthcare is an abomination, but this goes far beyond healthcare, it’s the pervasive societal imbalance. And yes, he likely would have been shot if he was black.

Who wouldn't love the person who takes them out?
When the government is a corpocracy, would you really expect any other result? It's not like you can vote them out.

The Guardian is accepting the official narrative uncritically.

Take your 'identity politics' that you're trying to force into this issue, roll it up, shove it up your arse and fuck off.

What we are saying is, "Yes, CEO's lives matter. But so do the lives of their customers."
If that surprises anyone...they haven't been paying attention.
Luigi Mangione is a class war hero.
