Sadly, editorial independence is bending under corporate interests. @washingtonpost.com and @latimes.com seem increasingly shaped by billionaire publishers who prioritize power over the principles of #journalism.
imho, all media sites would do well to ignore the fat orange bastard. If they MUST write/speak about him, I wish they would just tell the unvarnished factual truth
Americans are proud of their democracy and freedom - it'll be interesting to see how many of them still believe that - and push to keep it - when it's actually under threat
This poses a grave threat to democracy, as it undermines one of the foundational pillars of an open and accountable society. Without it, gov and other institutions can operate in secrecy, shielded from scrutiny, which fosters corruption, abuse of power, and brings on rise the of authoritarianism.
Understand, this man should be ashamed of his actions, humiliated by his business peers, and mocked by the press. Mocked and scorned till he slinks away back into his moneyed world of privilege where he can hide and no longer endanger the American free press.
Real papers don't treat the reporters as transcriptionists. Reporters are like Border Collies -- you point them at the work or they find work to do. One other herding breed in NYC was bored in the apartment and destroyed one of each pair of socks in he owner's sock drawer.
Okay. They should start writing about "Billionaire Patrick Soon-Shiong, who said paper is ‘echo chamber’, also blocked paper’s board from endorsing Harris"
Then on Saturday, Soon-Shiong's daughter, 31-year-old Oxford University student Nika Soon-Shiong, threw another position into the mix. She claims that her family decided as a unit not to allow the paper to issue a recommendation for who is most
He told me it was merely my “opinion” that Trump lies more than other politicians. I pushed back, noting that the depths of his dishonesty have been well-documented by fact-based news organizations. Soon-Shiong didn’t apparently appreciate that. He scolded me for making “a statement.”
Reason why I don’t have any major US news outfit app on my phone. BBC has replaced much of it with a lil Guardian and my local paper who don’t answer to billionaires.
Newspapers today are owned by rich people who use their position to influence people. This is why the world is what it is today. I predict a lot of chaos in the US in the next few years. People are not going to just sit by and accept being treated as if they have no brains.
Useless pustule. Good luck running a “newz” paper. Who’s going to buy a rag that DOES’Nt tell you the world is on fire while obvious it is, literally, figuratively, politically, and existentially. Like a 6 year old in his parents attic running his newspaper for his imaginary friends. Moron.
He is infuriatingly ignorant about the need for a free press, or he is actively sabotaging our democracy as a Trump sycophant. Those are the two choices when assessing his actions.
Maybe they should’ve “taken a break” from 2021 to 2024, after he sent an armed mob to overthrow the government and while Biden was saving lives, growing NATO, creating jobs, and stabilizing the economy. Oh wait, because they wanted trump back in office for tax cuts. Right.

In this country we have a concept called freedom of the press.
If they want to write about Trump, then they should do so...without interference from you or anyone.
So much for factual news.
Another media source that is no longer an option for my eyes.
No reason to keep stabbing the dead body.
Please change the subject.

What did it cost Trump to buy LA Times owner?
Will he be another ambassador or get special tax breaks?
some people are like that. They don’t mind the rape. They just get embarrassed by watching it.
