Ontario voters have a habit of voting one way provincially and another way federally. Doug Ford’s support of Mark Carney and dislike of Pierre Poilievre reinforces that. PP will get clobbered in Ontario, where 122 seats are up for grabs. #MarkCarneyforPM

Here's the script, folks. It's now or never. Capitol switchboard: (202) 224-3121 Local office numbers: www.congress.gov/members/find... RTs appreciated.

To the tune of 12 days of Christmas but only 9 days (hoping it's a familiar tune to anybody who has ever been in a mall in Dec). Might take a bit of creativity to see how the words align with the tune... 🎶On the first day of voting from my screenshot li-brary Is Pierre supporting neo-nazis🎶

This is the list of demands the Trump administration sent to Harvard to avoid having its federal research grants cut off, which Harvard has rejected. www.harvard.edu/research-fun...

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring *all* removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

hey, remember when a fascist campaigned for president by promising to do fascist things and every Republican and the compliant lapdog press were all 'nah he's just kidding.' good thing there were no serious consequences from that

Trump to Bukele: "Home-growns are next. The home-growns. You gotta build about five more places. It's not big enough."

Trump on the phone to large DC law firms: “Yeah, we need a couple million dollars worth of pro bono legal work to help us build some concentration camps in Central America and kidnap Americans who say inconvenient things and send them there.”

The president told a Central American dictator to build five more massive slave labor camps to hold US citizens.

Erik Prince “began discussions with El Salvador last year before Trump was elected and first floated the idea of using their prisons for migrants, according to one of the people familiar with the matter.” 4/11/25 1/ www.politico.com/news/2025/04...

🚨This story is going to be HUGE. China is going to shutdown key US industries. Without rare earth minerals, you can’t build cars, computers, weapons or medical scanners. And China controls 90% of key minerals. There’s a lack of appreciation how crippling this situation could become very quickly.

Today, the trump White House barred Associated Press reporters from attending an Oval Office event and he continues to state he will not return Kilmar Abrego Garcia. SCOTUS ruled against trump on both accounts. They gave him immunity and now he is using it. What did they think would happen?

He’s threatening media companies who are critical of him. He’s talking about sending Americans to foreign prisons. He’s signing executive orders to investigate former staff members who spoke out against him. He’s defying the Supreme Court. Don’t you see what’s happening here?

Here's Trump saying to Bukele that "homegrown criminals are next" and talking about how El Salvador will need to build "about five more places."

OPINION by @ryanbeckwith.bsky.social: If you were to ask Trump and his top advisers the 10-question civics test, Ryan writes, “I’m not sure if their answers would be accepted by a United States Citizenship and Immigration Services officer.” READ MORE: www.msnbc.com/opinion/msnb...

Now that he's a lame duck, the thing I'm noticing about Trump is that his lies are lazier and more incoherent than ever. There's less thought behind his verbal diarrhea. Some of this may be the result of age-related decline. But in any event his showing during that press conference was abysmal.

🧵DISMANTLING DEMOCRACY I've been keeping track of Trump actions - now up to 192. Here, I dig into 69 actions specifically targeted at undermining democracy, rule of law & suppressing dissent. It's been 12 weeks of assaults on democracy. based on christinapagel.substack.com/p/a-republic... 1/18

When he was Prime Minister, Harper was the worst national leader in the democratic world. He was THE global dinosaur & obstructionist on the #ClimateCrisis, attacked science & evidence by muzzling scientists & gutting the census, & more. And that was all BEFORE MAGA. Poilievre will be much worse.

Excellent op-ed on why Dr. Henry is not the right person for the next Chief Public Health Officer of Canada role 👏🏼 Cc. @mark-carney.bsky.social @chiefscican.bsky.social canadahealthwatch.ca/2025/04/13/w...

Sumy's downtown, Palm Sunday. Families out, heading to church. Then, Russia struck. Thirty-one lives stolen, over eighty wounded. A day of faith turned to horror.

Big numbers like this lead to local quotas and the desire to fill them which leads to haste and abuse and lawlessness and terror. www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/...

The Trump administration just got into very deep trouble with the Supreme Court order. On left: DOJ claims USG only needs to "facilitate the return" of Abrego Garcia (via domestic policy) On right: Supreme Court 9-0 held USG must "facilitate Abrego Garcia's RELEASE FROM CUSTODY in El Salvador"

With Elon Musk admitting to Trump's Cabinet that the $1 trillion in government savings he had promised will be closer to $150 billion, an 85% reduction, fans of DOGE are quickly losing faith. Even the $150 billion promise may be a pie-in-the-sky boast. Shocking.🙄 www.rawstory.com/doge-failures/

From Fox Business analyst, after Howard Lutnick said this morning on the Sunday shows that the tariff exemptions on tech were only temporary.

I keep puzzling over how Rubio thinks it'll bring PROSPERITY to kidnap gay hairdressers based on their tattoos & then pay $20K/year to detain them in a slave camp. We could have spent that $6M on supporting trade with Congo instead, but Rubio has decided torture is better for profits?

Right?

3 facts that should drive the news: 1) DOGE has committed, rather than found, fraud. 2) A bunch of antisemites are using a claim to police antisemitism to take over universities. 3) In spite of claims they're cracking down on China, Trump's FP & financial policies have vastly helped China.

For “Public Health is Dead” I got to contribute to this piece about public health’s destruction in the US. It did not start with Trump but this administration is very aware of who will bear the brunt as they torch decades of public health progress. www.salon.com/2025/04/13/r...

Project 2025 has proved to be a good road map for what the Trump administration has done so far—and what may yet be on the way, @dgraham.bsky.social writes. https://theatln.tc/triaXB2C

Opposition politicians in Panama have accused the US of launching a “camouflaged invasion” of the country after President Trump confirmed the deployment of US soldiers days after the two countries signed a security pact.
