Typical Guardian to take a genderless piece and make it about violence against women because they don't believe, in their hearts, men are affected by Domestic Violence.
And massive underreporting by women too. In my case, during 3 years of abuse, including slapping, punching, hair pulling, kicking, choking and rape, sometimes when pregnant/holding a babe in arms I reported it once. That was after I left and he found me. And that's not counting the coercive control.
It will require a total change in police response to improve the arrest and conviction rate of serious sexual related offences. The rape conviction rate is the lowest in history, approximately 2%. It used to be 50+%. It's a policing disaster.
