As a father, I'll say this: having a kid is hard work, and if you decide against it, it is a responsible thing do to. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
Capitalist "concern" stems from their fear that workforce is getting thin
It would be great if journalism simply started from the premise that not having children is something normal that doesn't need to be explained or justified.
Who tf can afford a child when they can barely care for themselves. Let alone bring a child into this world right now would be extremely harmful to that child
Each to his own, let me be clear about that. Personally however I’m a simple man. I believe everything in nature is focused on survival and reproduction. I feel that’s in the core code of all of us. So having children is what we are made to do. But again, I’m totally okay with other choices.
The current expectations of work/career (employers) in conjunction with the unbalanced and frankly neofeudal, top heavy, antisocial distribution of wealth makes being childless actually an intelligent mathematical choice.
A cold assessment I concede, but that’s where life is in the US snd UK.
I found out I can’t have kids physiologically a while back. My wife is in the same boat. We met and bonded over this. Would have been nice I guess but those are the cards we were dealt.
This has been the same issue for decades (says someone childfree by choice for that long.)
I had people tell me I was selfish in not having kids, as if having children was a form of altruism (she had her first, by accident, at 18) I think more than a few were simply envious of having the choice.
I never wanted children. Never regretted my choice not to have them. I’ve led an incredibly full & rich life: travelled all over, seen loads of bands etc, really interesting career - and never felt I’ve missed out. Thank goodness this choice is beginning to be seen as no longer ‘weird’ or ‘wrong’.
I agree, but if people are comfortable they should talk about it. So many people are conditioned to believe their life will be empty, meaningless, lonely etc without kids. I hope seeing this view regularly can prevent people having children for the wrong reasons, because that's usually bad all round

The lady who said that? She shouldn't have children.
The breeding programme of civilisation and the genome of humanity is broken.
As health.
Forever.
