We're all going to have to realize that anticipating the failure of the second Trump administration isn't the same thing as rooting for America to fail. The only way American democracy resurrects itself is if the kakistocracy Trump is building does exactly what one would suspect and screws everyone.

So if Trump fucks the economy by creating massive tariffs, I’m prepared for it. And hopefully the Trump voters learn.
I do not root for Trump and his merry band of morons to fail. Much the opposite, I'd rather be here in 4 years eating my words that, against all odds, they were wildly successful with things like the economy and world relations.

When that pain is largely relieved, voters do not allow a continuation of said relief. Rather, diminished pain is still pain (real or not)..
The incoming administration will deliver on the infliction of new and worse pain. Removing it from power will not evidence a lesson learned. It will only demonstrate that voters…
