The big question I have now is how much of Adams' alleged misconduct violated city or state laws, which would allow Bragg or James to go after the (allegedly) felonious behavior that the current admin clearly refuses to pursue.

People keep suggesting that AG James might do something about Adams, but don’t think she has any power to prosecute. (Her actions against Trump were civil and not criminal.)

Bragg could too tho, if Adams broke state laws while breaking the Fed ones too. Maybe Gonzalez too, depending on where Adams did any shady stuff. Any of the five, really, but they’re the two most likely, I think.

“crime” has had a specific definition since the 1980s as a set of urban issues (robbery, rape, gun violence) reaching epidemic proportions. It has almost no relation to the general concept of criminal law. Yes, “tough on crime” has always meant instituting control on those issues by any means.
