I am honest about my own brain, teach them that everyone is "odd" in some way, and give the grace you want.
With ADhD, as long as they are working and not bothering others, its normal for my classroom to dancing in the back of the room.
We all practice advocating for ourselves and our needs, ND and NT alike.
The established traditional models are so often deeply toxic ones.
However, that is only a small handful of very disruptive behaviors and not something that should be full time.
Nobody should be required to hide every aspect of their autism.
And good luck telling your 60 year old peers that they need empathy training!
