Seriously though. Before booktok I was only reading primarily white straight cis fantasy authors and I was getting so bored because everything seemed the same. I found diverse booktok and there was a world that opened up. I will always be grateful for that. Now I love reading again.

I kept seeing Percival Everett's James on booktok, but I ended up picking up The Trees by him because I found it in paperback (still waiting on James for that). Not only was The Trees 5 stars, it was the best book I read last year and one of my top 5 ever.
