#pretendpanel March 8
Rejections don't bother me. I mostly write short stories. I have a list of publications I consider when submitting, and with each rejection I turn to the next pub on the list. I edit as needed. My stories eventually find good homes.

#pretendpanel! Don't get too down in the dumps about this question. It's an important part of the cycle, and most of us have been through it. I'd love to know...
March 8th: How have you dealt with rejection?

The more you write, rejections are to be expected.
If you're not getting rejections & acceptances it means you are not as active as you could be.
I log in the WORDING of each rejection.
☠️ If there's no encouragement to submit again, that zine gets crossed off my list. Saves me time.
⌛ Our time is precious.
✒️ 💥 All the warning signs should be heeded.
Each zine has different rejection letters they send out.
Big difference between
"We really hope to see your work again"
VS
"Good luck on finding a home for this."
❌ = the 2nd reply is a kiss-off. That zine is off my list 4-ever.
