I wish they would stop calling these things "pre-orders", which implies people ordering a thing ahead of time so the company knows how man to make to fill the orders, and something more akin to reality, like "lucky lottery offerings" where you might have a chance to vote for something.😩

The Pro Controller is the only accessory I want.

Carrying Case/Screen Protector definitely isn't optional either, at basically any level even if you plan to keep it indoors.

Not dropping it ever simply isn't realistic for most households.

I'd look into getting a screen protector as well, but otherwise, it should be fine. I'm glad only the accessories went up because that and the steering wheel set, which I'm mostly looking to get for my kid, are still not that bad prices wise.

Most of their accessories are made in China, which are hit with additional 145% in tariffs. So this makes sense. They’re absorbing the cost of the additional 10% from Vietnam.

I'm confused. The Canadian website says the 24th as well, but when I check the "preregister your interest" page, it still says it will send out advance preorder invitations on May 8. So which is it?

Nintendo’s pre-order invitations start going out May 8th, but all other retailers will start April 24th. I’m assuming Nintendo will be holding back a large chunk of stock for their own pre-orders.

Okay, that makes sense. So if I miss my chance on the 24th (which is likely, because I'm going on a road trip that day and will likely be the driver) I have a plan B.

It's weird that the regular retailers are getting stock before the official Nintendo store though.

I hope they reconsider not phasing out the Mario Kart World bundle. Between the tariffs and the price hikes on games (and the baffling decision to charge anything for Welcome Tour), some show of customer friendliness would go a long way right now.
