That's his nephew, Alfred Barry, son of William. Here in the 1871 census, he's 12 (so 15-16 in these entries). The census also gives a sense of the family business, and of their religious iconoclasm.
I found something on Pictou County on the Internet and then read some of your blog from the link you posted. It was a hotbed of Presbyterianism. Then I found a dissertation on PEI and religion. I have to stop going down rabbit holes.
I wonder if its iconoclasm or anger at being asked for a religious affiliation. In some of the British census there were odd entries because questions were deemed intrusive. Eg drawing a pair of feet in answer to the question how do you get to work? Nice to have a name for the boy now.
