Thanks Grant. A good read. I've got lots of set-piece images that begin to describe a situation, its setting and the paraphernalia entailed. Due to poor health I'm almost always unable to respond to 'story' moments as they happen to/around me. My partner doesn't want to much appear in the work.

So I have a collection of images that build a picture but there's no real story. Situation is: really ill, missing out on life. Story is: don't know, tbh! Hmmmm.

Making an image - due to appalling health - is very non-spontaneous. I usually have to recreate a scene/subject days later and can only work briefly and sporadically.

Seems I set out organically to make situational & environmental images, as distinct from to tell a particular story.

Not currently clear to me what the actual story is, given I've missed the Start (15-30 years ago), the Middle is endless and the End could be decades away. Sub stories, perhaps.

You can always edit a story from a collection of images. Bowie did this with all of his songs building narrative from scraps in the Burroughs cut up approach. I would play with this, have fun and see what happens
