Yeah. I think if you don’t want to learn a new language or don’t have the means to support yourself whilst doing so, Ireland is probably your best bet.
This is going to be a problem for most places, TBH.
There’s a thing where lots of Americans seem to think it will be easy to emigrate (I see this myself a lot as a British immigrant in the EU), and they get a nasty surprise when their plans hit reality.
Ireland has terrible trans healthcare and it's hard to get a working visa if you're not from the UK or EU. Also there's a housing crisis and the cost of living is like the UK. Love my country but WNR to Americans unless they've got excellent employment prospects.
Currently Ireland is my interim escape plan from the UK. I'm a dual citizen and I can probably argue with my employers to keep working from there. Long term though, I need to learn another language and move out of the Anglophone world
The bigger concerns with Australia are, a Murdoch controlled media, US bases and at least 1 case of a Prime Minister being ousted for being too far left of the US's Overton window.
Australia has many problems and most of them are shared with other Western countries. We are never going to find a perfect country, but this conversation is about where trans people will be relatively safe if/when they need to leave the US.
As an Australian, I love terrifying foreigners with tales of our wildlife, but my day-to-day life in Sydney was fairly wildlife-free (except for the cockroaches).
The main actual barrier to moving here to Australia is it's a pain in the arse to manage to migrate here, especially with a view to staying permanently
The Australian immigration system is not a kind one, but if you work in certain industries you might have an easier time of it. The whole process of immigrating from one country to another is not easy but it's good to know your options.
Being at the 7 year point post moving here (still in the process of citizenship), I'll say that even with the right career it's a slog that really wants to squeeze you for large lumps of cash at every possible stage.
Honestly, with the way things are looking here...getting the hell OUT of the USA is likely a good idea for anyone who can manage it. While, agreed, far more accepting places to go...it's still *not here*.
So true! I had someone in the UK say something similar about life here on terf island not too long ago... Like WTAF!!! The press and government have been doing their best to make life hostile for trans folks for years now. What do you not get?

I assume the same will apply to Australia, Canada and other safe (for now) countries
They could claim asylum by claiming persecution, but cant work during that process

It's going to be a hard 4 years for lots of Americans from today
