Hopping up and down so your sword reaches the bat you're attacking looks and sounds unwieldy, but most RPGs assume every foe is in at exact height you need to strike it. We kinda dig this approach! And having camps of traditional dungeon monsters as neutral NPCs cleverly challenges your assumptions.
