I use "desktop app" (it's just a wrapper) and sometimes see something simiar… same goes for android app with slow connection... so much for "native local app" =,=

I have a couple musicians in my friend circle.
As a result, in my opinion, spotify should crash much, much more often. Preferably lethally.

I use the Firefox web app because there's no desktop client for my platform (aarch64 linux). Everything is just really slow to load (tens of seconds) (page loads, album artwork in playlists, etc.) and while things are loading in, playback controls just don't work. Always feels like the cache is cold

uBlock and firefox's privacy protections are also disabled because they were causing issues (ugh), and I've also tried Chromium, which seemed like an improvement but it didn't actually fix it.

Also it's kinda intermittent, sometimes it's better and sometimes it's worse. Which makes me think it's perhaps broken caching combined with the servers getting bogged down during times of high load

Something similar happened to me with Ubuntu x64

I had 2 things wrong.
- when you do nslookup https://google.com
does your local or external DNS server respond?
Is the service correct?

And is your Firefox the Ubuntu snap or installed directly?

Hmm, mines about the same and I can’t see similarly poor perf on Firefox mac. No cache is interesting, could you be blocking local storage or indexdb etc via some privacy or permissions? My settings are default, e.g. “standard” enhanced tracking protection.

Mine are "standard" too, with "enhanced tracking protection" disabled entirely for open.spotify. com

Tidal audio quality is so much better. Spotify has lagged in offering a better codec for audiophiles? Plus, it's a f'ing resource pig and makes a funny noise when it squeals.When it overpowers my own squeals of anguish, it's gotta go.
