Yup, these #s are complete bollocks & have ZERO to do with actual tariff levels. They are cooked up based on things Trump is claiming are barriers to fair trade. Like the EU's VAT, which is a non-discriminatory domestic tax system. Anything at all (cultural, econ, pol) could be used in this fantasy.

Admittedly not my wheelhouse, but the “Tariffs charged to USA” numbers all look wildly implausible to me. Any trade experts want to weigh in?
