I won’t deny that I enjoy people agree with me. But I also invite disagreement when they are in good faith and thought out. Swimming in confirmation bias is boring. The old twitter (by admission of Jack Dorsey) was censorious to right wing opinion. His excuse was that it was ran by Bay Area leftists

I enjoy the challenge of a good argument, as long as it's civil. I don't expect to win everyone to my way of thinking but it's fun trying. Twitter had people willing to engage civilly for a long time. Then the trolls took over pretty much as soon as the platform became X.

I guess the fundamental point is that it shouldn't matter who is running a platform; the platform should be ambivalent to what's going on within it. The algorithm should simply help people find and see the stuff they want. The algorithm should not be opinionated. X is opinionated.

The thing with twitter is that so many people weren't arguing in good faith and truly enjoyed just yanking people's chains.

Because more users here are likely to block those bad faith arguments, it's easier to find those that are cogent.
