Would you rather - a box of 12 Boosters of Shiny Final Fantasy Magic cards, or a Nintendo Switch with every currently released Final Fantasy game, with enough money left over for a Pro Controller and a box of Jaffa Cakes.

If that's truly the price, I sincerely hope @tolariancommunitycollege.com *doesn't* do a collector booster box game with these
Buying it at that price, even to show it's not worth the value, proves to Hasbro that people will buy it. Even if it's only YouTubers that buy it, money is money
This has to be just scalper pricing because theres no way. According to this page, the collector boosters are going to be priced at $37.99, so 12 should be in the neighborhood of 450 (or about 80 dollars cheaper than the LOTR set on release) https://magic.wizards.com/en/news/feature/collecting-final-fantasy
I love FF. I begged for a ps1 just to play it so the whole series has a special place for me.
I wanted to set money aside, maybe get a collectors box and just try for something special for a bit of that old feeling but what are we doing at this point?
Save even more money and grab an Anbernic over a Switch. Emulator Console that runs on Linux and Android and costs a fraction of the price of a switch, plus no joycon drifting.
As much as I love Tactics, Tactics Advance and A2 are two of the best tactical games ever made. Easy enough for anyone to play and plenty of tactical depth for experienced tactics gamers. They're criminally underrated.
A friend and I were planning on building fun Cloud/Sephiroth commander decks to verse each other. Not anymore. I don't want to spend a damn dime on this set
(the one caveat is if anything Kingdom Hearts shows up, then I'm ponying up on the secondary market)
My anticipated spend for this set was supposed to be 4 commander decks, a bundle for me, and a box to draft. It’s now down to 2 precons and a bundle *if* I can get them for a reasonable price. They priced me out of enthusiasm
Probably gonna buy a box of the FF play boosters just because I made plans to do so with my sister before all this shit was announced, but I can't imagine I'm buying any paper UB stuff if it's gonna be used to milk whales this blatantly.
A box of collector's boosters for MSRP is still $455.88. Play boosters are $209.70. Collector's boosters don't cost nearly five and a half times the cost to print than play boosters. Not saying play boosters should be $6.99 but still.
I bought LOTR. My LGS was significantly cheaper than Amazon and this was when everyone was racing for the one ring. Many, mine included, sell for MSRP. Not this higher than price.
How many packs? Sorry, I rarely buy a box of any of it. We definitely support Prof on his buy singles theory. I buy an occasional pack for fun but mostly we buy exactly what we want in the art version we prefer. And I'm not a final fantasy person so 🤷, though Tarkir and the end of space lands? Yes.
They cut them back to 30 packs a couple of sets ago. Commander decks are MSRP $70 for the normal editions, the collector boosters are like $450. From the company, this set is 30-40% more expensive than Aetherdrift.
The answer is a resounding No. Cards have never felt more plastic, insubstantial, or poorly constructed and the quality is not likely to improve. They keep printing garbage the game doesn't need instead of focusing on key quality issues to meet that a ravenous demand they invented.
I remember using this same logic when the Mobile Game FF Record Keeper tried to sell me gatcha 'pulls'. For the cost a handfull of pulls I could could buy 1-3 Full FF Games (depending on age/medium). Not a good look for WotC or SquareEnix
Neither.
I would rather give amount toward as down payment on a Boxbl Casita unit costing $20k for a homeless person to no longer be homeless. https://www.boxabl.com/casita
Small designed unit allows a person a semblance of dignity.
Units have bathroom, kitchen, sleeping area, eating area, TV area all in size of an RV unit looks like a studio unit. Hooks up ready in 45 minutes to live in.

I NEED THAT CARD!
I don't buy magic the gathering stuff so I don't care about pricing but WHAT THE FUCK
But even I'm not that crazy and I bought the First Class Edition of FF7 Remake.

600 dollars? It's cardboard.
For less money, I bought the new Monster Hunter instead
A much better decision
(Final Fantasy Tactics: Advance)

I'll take the box please.
play boosters are 6.99/ea. If you buy a box they cut you a deal, so I'd expect about $180 if there's sufficient stock
they did learn from the assassins creed debacle. That was WAY pricier & far less useful
