This is your reminder to download your kindle books onto a device where you can keep hold of them if Amazon decides to remove them.
They'll be removing that option on the 26th of this month. 5 days. So back up your library!

REALLY
I connected my kindle to my pc and copied all the books to a folder on the PC.
I assume this is sufficient?
Pre-2024 kindles should still be using the older drm, which has been cracked. Newer kindles are probably using the new drm, which isn't cracked.
I am just preserving the books in a second place. At the moment i will continue to use the kindle paperwhite i currently have. Perhaps i will try a different E reader in the near future. I have stopped using amazon for downloading books anyway.
You'll get a list of all your purchases. On the right, there's a drop down menu for each book, click that and choose download and transfer via USB.
Download and install the appropriate app for your device (mac/pc)
Download all your books.
Go to tools > options > content and see where the content folder is.
Open the folder location in your file explorer.
Copy it all...
It'll be in kindle format, which is fine if you can find an airplane mode kindle to put it on someday, but if not...
Download and install Calibre ebook management.
Choose Kindle from the list. Ignore the email settings
Finish installation...
You can search libraries, check out ebooks and audio, and read them in the app. It’s been around for years.

I'll just buy hard copies of the good ones.
Is there a way to download them without the Kindle reader?
