A single veto undermining 14 nations is a stark reminder of the flaws in the UNSC structure. As Dag Hammarskjöld once said, the UN wasn’t created to bring us to heaven, but to save us from hell—yet unilateral power risks tipping the scales toward chaos instead of peace.

The U.N. Security Council voted 14-1 in favor of the resolution demanding an immediate ceasefire in the war in Gaza, but it was not adopted because of the U.S. veto. US is a scourge in global politics and a bully. No single country should have so much unilateral power on the global stage.
