I am so happy to hear about this. It will save so many “short” flights and provide people with options for transportation other than building bigger highways. I also agree that there should be other routes being considered, but we need to start somewhere.

The goal here is to increase freight capacity to the Atlantic and improve inter-province trade…side benefits of unifying the three major business and power centers in the country (Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal)…Windsor will come, but scope needs to be managed…benefits will be obvious…

Honestly, in my perfect world it would have phased in plans:

Phase 1: Toronto-Kingston-Montreal and Calgary-Edmonton
Phase 2: Windsor-London-Toronto, Montreal-Quebec and Toronto-Peteborough-Ottawa-Montreal

I hail from #LdnOnt and I'd be happy to settle for this offer if we get the high-frequency rail service promised earlier. I can handle 90-120 minutes to Toronto if I don't have to wait 4 hours for the trip to start.
