Want to know why the roads are in bad shape? Too few houses? Downtowns desolate while big box stores are slowly falling into disrepair? Slow ambulance responses? Lack of doctors? Decades of treating public finance based entirely on the size of deficits and debt.

If you’re reading coverage of a party platform and it’s mostly a discussion of surplus/deficit/debt, it’s not good coverage. Government is not a business, using this terminology to the exclusion of a deeper analysis only exacerbates the problem.

Go vote, before election day. When you’re done, contact your preferred local campaign and tell them you voted. They’ll update their list and you’ll have saved them from spending more resources reaching out to you. That lets them focus on remaining votes!
