Yeah I think that’s how I’m going to play it out, work on the small business (which I’ve been modifying to actually be accessible for me and not other people) and find pt remote work, I e come to really enjoy Data Quality and managing dev teams.

My temp company was watching to see how long I could run that contract, their longest by far. Problem with me (that the autism dx only recently explained) is that I have a default setting that anyone who is nice to me is a friend. So I tend to get blindsided after missing dozens of signals

2021-this week: contract ended maybe because of restructuring, retiring manager? I’m still not totally sure, but I liked this job and felt safe. So prepare yourself for an onslaught of sea salt and hey, try and keep in mind those wacky coworkers, some of them have really been through it

Also 2016: quit position because of the way they treated temp workers and that they were bullying and isolating ALL female employees 2017: Tidal Salt 2018-2020: job ended with COVID cutbacks, came down to me and one other staff who was there two weeks longer than me (but was a HORRIBLE employee)

2014: let go because they promised me a career but secretly tried to hire my wife to replace me after four weeks 2015: let go at 89 days, owner brought the staff together and they a voted that I “didn’t match the vibe” 2016: contract job, contract ended

2007-2008: left that job because it was insanely traumatizing and dangerous 2008-2009: got bored and moved to Ottawa 2010: let go for asking for better conditions 2012: left due to PTSD from 2008 job 2013: partner homesick for Maine, so we moved

This is why I started Tidal Salt, as a neurodivergent person I needed something that no one could take away from me.

Anyone run this through an AI check yet? There's some ChatGPT fingerprints on that statement

The AI bullishness seems to come from the line of thinking that AI is a future utility whether we like it or not and we absolutely cannot allow ourselves to become reliant on US companies to manage it appropriately, especially consider how much US social media corps are currently screwing us.

I'd be curious to look at politic commentary before and after major events that changed the direction of the country. Like, were the folks who had commentary that was really on point before the Constitution in 1983 still relevant in 1985 or does the instinct for commentary really context specific?

Yeah I’m going going to call them tomorrow and see if that’s possible

Possibly, I think there’s a fee involved

The other option would be a Google Voice number to use for business? Those work fairly well.

It’s a-Pierre-ntly a really dumb way to spend their time

I set my voicemail to say something like “I don’t check this voicemail, email me or text me” and set my phone app to do not disturb. I manually allow only the people I want to call me otherwise I periodically check for voicemails that are longer than 30 seconds. Otherwise I live in peace.

eh, I dunno. I think it's more that there's folks in the establishment media that yearn for more "normal" times so that comes through in their reporting style. Fun fact, you can subscribe to the Globe easily on their website, but to quit you have to call customer service

We live a world where the CEO of Ben & Jerry’s is in handcuffs and CEOs of failing infrastructure get bonuses and vacations
