In this day and age, you cannot leave a vacuum in the information space. Talk to Canadians, tell them what you have done and why, explain to them that the Cons don’t have their back. Do it consistently! Otherwise voters will continue to be sucked in by the populist message.

I see online celebrations about our result from other countries but I don't feel all that convinced. This is way too close and took way too much effort to counteract the misinformation machine - especially from the leader of the opposition, himself, and media that failed to push back.

Only 67% of voters actually voted according to Elections Canada at this point which means that 40% of voters that turned out voted for it not 40% of Canadians. Still way too high but the 30% of Canadians that didn't vote is disappointing.

My Con riding is quite a spectrum. Many voted blue out of habit. The SM push of not another Lib parliament + “change” was effective (FB esp). *Many* didn’t keep up with the campaign rhetoric, nvm read platforms. Some didn’t know PP led the cons, or that his msg was anti-woke. Mis/Disinfo won.

The anti-elite msg is landing with many who don’t want to pursue any education but still land high-paying jobs with benefits. Anger & emotion are driving a lot, while critical thinking and debate fall at the wayside. Increasingly, there’s no such thing as compromise, just “you’re wrong and stupid.”

..super educated people. Didn’t know anything about the platforms, anti-woke rhetoric, etc. The day before the leadership election, in a heated argument, one of them told me “you expect me to vote for Freeland?! We don’t have a chance. There’s no one else.” Hadn’t heard of Carney.

As someone who never had the privilege of voting in a fair and free election before, I was bursting with excitement when they called the election. I got to vote for the first time! It’s odd to me that 9 million people take this for granted.
