The article is open access. I was wondering if the model is made available via a user friendly online tool that can identify the climate misinformation in user submitted text.

Ah, gotchya. Actually, yes, our fallacy detection tool is available online but I will qualify that it's just thrown up on the free platform huggingface so is a bit slow (particularly the first time you use it, subsequent attempts, it gets quicker) https://huggingface.co/fzanartu/flicc

I will add that we are working on a faster and more sophisticated tool at the moment that not only identifies the fallacy (drawing on our fallacy detection model) but also uses generative AI to debunk the misinformation. We published preliminary results from this research at https://arxiv.org/abs/2407.05599

If only one day we could paste in a URL or some text and get a marked-up text showing all the fallacies, with citations. But I'm not optimistic it would actually change anything - those who spread and believe this stuff seem very unlikely to respond to evidence anyway.

We're working on a tool that does that very thing (but initially just climate misinformation). You wouldn't get climate deniers using the tool but it can support others who outreach to vulnerable/targeted communities. E.g., it's not about preaching to the choir, its about teaching the choir to sing.

yes, the climate choir needs to sing better, and having PROOF at hand, that can be pointed to online, is a big step forward.

I presume you train the models very well on real climate data, on typical climate misinfo - what else?
