No expert but this is very unwise. Please study Scotland's problem re this industry and what it does to your wild sea environment. Jobs in rural areas are scarce and guarded, over - reliance encourages expansion by giant foreign companies. Little motivation re environment. Wild salmon replaced.
The problem is, it wouldn’t do that. What it would allow is for commercial fishing, which includes recreational and not subsistence, to continue unabated. Subsistence fishers would suffer, more. It also could be used to justify things like the copper mine. Kill the buffalo, sell them steak, control.
I think you're taking that too far. Lol
There's nothing wrong with fisheries. They're all over the place. In this area it's clams, etc.
It controls over fishing and creates another industry to export. A lot of small business owners, also, can be made.
It would put wild salmon in great danger, risking interbreeding, altering the genetic make-up of wild salmon populations and introducing new diseases such as infections from sea lice that could wipe out wild populations. @govdunleavy.bsky.social don't lift the ban on fish farms!

Also, check Dan Sullivan’s fish farm investment.

Anchorage needs NG but no company is stepping up to put a new well in Cook inlet
Cook Inlet wells were there before I was dragged up there as a baby in 1967...
