I feel like women have been saying this forever.
Back in 2015 I had this large painful bulge in my lower stomach and went to see my GP. He recommended I lose weight. Mind you I was around 130lbs at 5'7 at the time.
Went to my gyno it was 22 cm ovarian cyst. I'm shocked the numbers aren't higher

Didn't recommend I see a urologist or nephrologist. Turns out I'm in stage three kidney failure.
It makes me so mad we live in a country where they try to kill you before they treat you.
Me and my husband keep you in our thoughts and send good vibes. π
I hope the treatment for your kidneys goes well.
I also use chanca piedra tea and I take ellura (ultra concentrated cranberry extract) and D-Mannose (to help prevent bacteria from adhering in the urinary tract)
I should drink more dandelion tea. My body would thank me.
Told it was all in my head
Told I needed to get hobbies and focus my mind on other things
Meanwhile the stage 4 fibroid masses kept growing
For YEARS
Was not listened to until I needed an emergency hysterectomy
IT WAS NOT ALL IN MY HEAD
I had a hernia operation previously scheduled through insurance.
The fibroid masses grew larger than oranges and were causing so much pain I went to the ER.
That's where I was told I needed the emergency hysterectomy...
And ALSO told I did NOT have a hernia π
1/2
I offered to lift up my dress and show the bulging abdominal wall pushing through the scar of the last hernia operation...
"You are free to go home" he said and then left the room.
Oh but the surgery wasn't done correctly so I need to have a third operation.
And right after the hernia operation I had to have the emergency hysterectomy.
Doctors: "oh man, you know, women's bodies are just weird things, so it's pretty normal. Also, lose some weight, it should fix it"
Sometimes I feel like I could be carried into the ER with a ax in my head and the first thing the Doc would say would be "You know, you could stand to make some changes in your diet."
22 pound stump tumor had enveloped my ute. It was so gnarly it grew its own blood vessels.
Post surgery I was below my ideal weight for my height.
What the fuck?

1) doc will congratulate me for losing a few pounds
2) I will be told that if I'm still bitching after losing such weight it must be pms get out of their face
Because women's complaints are ignored, many die from conditions that are treatable in the early stages.
Many lose their ability to have children due to delayed response or no response.
Many become disabled for life from conditions easily managed in early stages.
Many women have been abused.
Told to lose weight.
Exercise.
Relax...
They had tumors!
They were not the reason for their poor health.
We need to do better.
It will not happen now with the current team but I have hope one day that will improve.
Obgyn: your bmi is great, but you would probably (magically) feel better if you lost 5-10lbs.
I CAN'T, BECAUSE OF THE THING CAUSING EVERYTHING
Zero suggestions other than to lose weight that I told her I couldn't, no offers for HRT, nothing. Just figure out how to deal with it, thanks for coming in.
And itβs not like the doctors donβt know Iβm trans. Simply the *visual* of male is enough. Itβs weird to both loathe and appreciate something at the same time.
My dr basically refused and had I not had an advocate with me I probably would never have gotten an appt with one
By the time she switched gynos and was admitted to hospital, the ovarian cyst had ruptured, she had systemic sepsis, and she nearly died.
But hey, no one said lose weight bc she was 95lbs (and 5β1β)
Iβm lucky (?)- both my parents suffered debilitating headaches, so they took my migraines seriously (I think mine started at 8 or so)
My bestie was told to simply loose weight, the pain is not as bad as she is thinking.
She went into the hospital with sepsis due to endometriosis cysts and had to have emergency surgery
I pal around with bodybuilders who are at, like 8% bodyfat, with 8 pak abs and visible individual muscle fibers, and before the ACA they were unsinsurable because the fucking BMI judged them to be "morbidly obese".
Reading about so many women who need HRT and their doctors suck I decided to be proactive and see an online doctor. My Winona meds should be in Wednesday. Iβm really hoping they will help!
I have two chronically ill kids who have different forms of rheumatic diseases- think rheumatoid arthritis. They were diagnosed at 5 and 8. At 33 I had my joints swelling up, and some other symptoms. I was told that Iβm too young 1/
