I wish people would realize how smart farm animals are!! Instead, they see them as just "meat" and non sentient beings...it disgusts me, and 1 of a million reasons why I am a π± #Vegan
I don't think the lovely Sasha @beneaththewood.bsky.social would have much luck with the 99 pigs she rescued. 53 of them are from an illegal slaughter house in Wales.
Pigs are smart, & like to be clean! They also refuse to eat margarine, which was created during WW2 as a cheap feed for pigs. When pigs refused to eat it, the investors colored it yellow & began to market it as "a healthier & more economical substitute for butter". Humans buy it & eat it, though!
If you are on insta, you might like @alohaanimalsanctuary I have helped out there; they are great! Last week they had to close to visitors and volunteers because we've had a bird flu outbreak on the island. All well there; just being safe.
I know, as a child, a sow bit me because I wasn't going fast enough to feed ! With a full bucket !
The family ate it at the end of the year, for Christmas. Very good ! π₯°
They are adorable π They are stronger than you, but they don't use it. They are just nice, and therefore probably smarter than humans who would try to get all the food for one individual by force.
