Canadian knitters and crocheters:
Canada has several excellent yarn companies, local yarn shops, and indie dyers. Check labels before you buy so we can support Canadian businesses and yarn producers. 🧶 🇨🇦

✅Diamond Yarns is online, and is basically THE supplier of real, not-acrylic yarn to shops
❌Yarnspirations, while it has a Cdn head office, is physically +American (and uses Shopify for its platform, whose owners are basically full convoy/Tru Nrth types)
Others?
Shops in #yeg:
https://thefibrenook.com (Argyll/south side)
https://littlebluefibrestudio.com (Capilano)
Little Blue also carries https://briggsandlittle.com yarn from the Maritimes (NB)

I'll add Panda Yarns (beautiful gradient yarn cakes) and Rosebud River Fibre Mill in Alberta.
It may have seemed I was particularly touting them with a link pixie, but blusky just picked the first link in my post, and produced a pixie for them.

Is absconding with our cats the official Canadian retaliation?
The Canadian yarn will be the less expensive yarn.
Sheep farmers could use the boost and wool is an excellent natural product. Fire resistant, warm, biodegradable, AND it'll still keep you warm when wet.

The wool is cleaned without using harsh chemicals so the fibres don't break which is what usually causes the itchy feeling some folks experience with wool. Products can be ordered online. The website is https://topsyfarms.com
