Even LinkedIn now has viral threads about Yarvin, Thiel, Musk, DOGE/RAGE and the Network State. When social media’s copycat algorithm kicks in, you know the narrative is sticking.

This reminds me of George Lakoff’s framing concept—how issues are framed shapes how people interpret them. The other side isn’t just stealing content; they’re reinforcing narratives. If we don’t create our own frames, we’re stuck playing defense in theirs.
The best stories are meant to be retold. That's a pernicious thing about paywalls -- they limit information spread. The fascists spread their poison for free, but the truth often has a barrier to entry. This has created a lethal asymmetry in the information war.
Of course, I understand why paywalls exist. I worked at some struggling newspapers. Always pay for the things you need if you can. But when information is behind a paywall, it’s less weaponizable. A necessity becomes a luxury. And in times such as these…
I can imagine how galling it is to see you work cribbed. I must say I'm grateful the news is getting out, finally.
It was crazy making way before the election when you (and perhaps @wendysiegelman.bsky.social ) were the only ones I knew of who were writing about it.
The paywalls have been a major problem in reaching the masses. At this moment of extraordinary times, extraordinary measures must be in place. That includes free tranfer of the "Truth Narrative", the actual Narrative based on factual information that is not open for interpretation.
And yet I continue to receive replies on my posts from the uninformed claiming Vance isn’t more dangerous than Trump. I reply with a trove of articles, including your work.
I have that belief because Vance does not have the followers that Trump does. There is no amount of money or propaganda that can or will make him more likable.
Malcolm Nance has been warning about Yarvin's influence on the PayPal Mafia. I highly recommend Ian Masters' interview with Nance on the Background Briefing podcast today.
What strikes me most about the whole network state idea is just how much of a naive and juvenile fantasy it is.

Thank you Gil! I was seriously wondering for years when this subject was going to be reported on. You have done amazing work bringing this serious issue into the open.
Have you seen Dr Nafeez Ahmeds work? He is a British investigative reporter who's been documenting the Alt Reich movement on both sides of the pond. He has a book called "Alt Reich" that came out tracing the movement from the 1930's to the Network State: https://bsky.app/profile/did:plc:7rgjbs7podp3qidz3gyn6da4
Gil,..thanks for doing the hard research, putting it all together and bringing it forward for curious minds. I had been dog paddling around in the deep water convinced that I was becoming a conspiracy theorist.
I've been calling it, "The Dark Enlightenment to The Golden Age of America". Much more than the daily cirque noir of trump/musk treachery, but rather a sea change.

If you don’t care about credit and only care about framing the narrative, it’s amazing what you can do.
The other side already has this figured out.
But I am also trained in political communication, where the whole goal is to frame the narrative toward a goal rather than “credit.”
This has to become so prevalent that even the big outlets can no longer ignore it. Nearing goal.

Thanks so much!
I get why they want pay walls they want to get paid
But there’s not a lot of billionaires in the centre on the left funding information to fight the fascists
😫💩
