Wonderful article!! Yes, I so agree, one of my favorite games of all time is Sonic Adventure 2, and holy FUCK if that isn't one of the jankiest games out there. 🤣 Once your brain gets used to a game's jank, you can start working around it! As long as it's not a game breaking bug or anything. :3

One of my favorite things to do is go to an archive site like Vimm's and download some ps1 abandonware I've never heard of, they're almost never good but it's at least a fun way to spend a couple hours.

I'm a huge proponent of giving "bad" jank games a chance. One of my all time favourite games from my childhood is the first Chameleon Twist for N64. The graphics were rudimentary, the game play was unpolished and issue prone, but I found all of this was more a part of the challenge and experience.

And sometimes even the "jank" or "bugs" left unnoticed end up making the game more in depth to play and change up the meta style of play,like for example in Dark Souls with a bug where you could do something called "toggle escape" by mashing your d pad to escape stunlock adding more mechanical depth
