I voted today in my town. I didn’t have a voter card but the election poll workers were kind and patient, so friendly. They got me through the process and then thanked me for voting.

Federal election poll workers get paid statutory holiday pay, that is Good Friday, Easter Sunday AND Easter Monday because it's federal statutory holidays

The City of Toronto employees get double pay for municipal election - one pay from City of Toronto AND another pay for election pay. Double-dip

Thanks for working the election! I worked many (can't handle the long hours now). As you said, very long days with no set breaks. Always found it rewarding though. Very few abusive voters over the years; most happy to be doing their part & very happy with how Canadian elections are administered.

On Vancouver Island poll workers and Elections Canada staff have been superb. Neighbour applied online for mail voting on Thursday and 15 minutes later Elections Canada called her to clarify something and mailed the ballot out 10 minutes later.
