Yes and no. Statistically, they are counted against GDP when starting with consumption, investment, and government spending because these represent demand, part of which is being met with foreign supply.
Does it reflect a reduction in domestic output? It depends. It could reflect an increase in demand, while output remains the same, or it could reflect foreign output serving in the place of domestic output to meet existing demand. It's hard to say, just on the face of it.
We still have shipments coming from China so we’ve used a phased approach to price increases. Gave all of our customers 30-day advance notices of price increases. We’ve been as transparent with them as we can be.
Wall Street reacting like there's somehow good news in what we all knew what was going to happen, everyone front loading purchases before the tariffs, really makes you wonder about how these really not bright people (and/or scam artists) control our financial resources.
Tsunami analogies are exactly right. Because it looks like there's no threat from water as it recedes the destruction when it comes is so much worse. But the analogy, visually, is wrong for what DT has done. It's more like detonations have been set on the support pylons and the timer is running.
Buying in imports to bolster inventories will only make things worse once the tariffs hit. Trump better cave, make a few quick deals, blame Biden and declare victory.
Great analogy. The people looking at the performance of the market this week and believing we survived the storm and are now in for smooth sailing very much feel like beach gawkers.
You’d think, given his presiding over the pandemic lockdowns, that he’d have a greater appreciation for how long it takes to un-disrupt a supply chain. It’s like he’s recreating the pandemic economic fallout just for us, on purpose
Not only recreating but making it worse. The issue during COVID was lack of resources and personnel to move stuff. It was just a matter of time before it cleared.
The rapist has completely cut off the supply of stuff.
At least they are conditioning their cultists to refuse vaccines and other medical advances. Unfortunately, so many innocents will die. And they do not care.
I know this sounds obvious but it's probably wise to make a thorough inventory of what non-perishable items your household is likely to consume over the next couple of years and buy it all now..

Humans are in for a wild ride, and it likely ends in extinction based on our compass.
Unless we #unite to stop it.

Amazing how many people calmly watch the tide go out without realizing what it means for their future.
This tsunami isn’t gonna be one of those where the wave is only a few inches tall before it hits the shore.

He doesn’t want us to think about him, he wants us to die
