To be fair we could delete it, but sometimes it's good to leave comments like that up so that people can see exactly how victims are treated. I've got a filter set up to auto-delete Johnny Depp defenders (there are tons), and I've manually deleted Kevin Spacey and Woody Allen defenders.
It is fine, nobody would expect you to take this much responsibility.
I always report and block if I see someone like this.
Even if it doesn't mean much I feel better afterwards.
Irrespective of the (assumedly low) percentage of false allegations among all of them, my questions are, and remain:
- do you acknowledge that they exist?
- how do you think society should deal with them?
By the way, some are made for money, others for revenge.
You can 'delete' Woody Allen defenders or Michael Jackson defenders all you want, but that does not change the *bare facts* disproving your blind hatred.
They are both victims of false abuse allegations. And your 'auto-deleting' their defenses shows us how they are 'treated' by blind haters.
You seem to be actively searching Woody Allen's name to find arguments to get into. I hate to judge one's hobbies but surely there is something more fulfilling you could do with your time.
Im withkut words at thisnkind of stuff. What this commenter is failing to reveal/reflect here is WHY he (they, I try not to presume) is coming to this conclusion. Why the multiple reporters, journalists w/ editorial oversight and who are even disclosing their process, couldn't vet the stories best.
It's patriarchy, it's the armchair expert attitude pervasive of everything, it's a misapplication of critical media consumption. Sure, don't just believe Vulture cause they're Vulture, or Gaiman cause he's famous. But don't dismiss conclusions that are well evidenced & probable.
the assumption is always that the victims are trying to bring down the famous, wealthy and powerful for some nebulous reason while ignoring the fact that its that same fame, wealth and power that enables the abusers to get away with everything
Fucking hell!? Metric tonne of r*pe apologia indeed. Fuck that dude and everone like him. I mean holy fuck, how hard is it for these people to believe the fucking victims?

And I think that defending an innocent person who is continuously, falsely, and publicly alleged of a heinous crime is worth some of my leisure time.
Guy: Trust no one! You never know, they could be lying.
Famous Man: I didn't do it
Guy: I believe him 100%
I think if I was accused of awful things and I was innocent I'd never shut up about how I didn't do it. Rather than going into hiding.
