This raises an interesting question: do other manufacturers of electric vehicles (i.e. Kia/Hyundai, Volvo, Chevrolet, VW, BMW) better protect the passenger compartment from similar fires? Do they even burst into flames? I haven't seen any actual studies comparing such data. It would be interesting.

As Elon Musk’s DOGE chainsaws through federal agencies with budget and staff cuts, Tesla and SpaceX, cornerstones of his wealth, continue to benefit from public money. They probably wouldn’t have succeeded without it.
