The unpopularity of Trump has seemed to work against the AfD, fortunately. According to recent election results, they will be pushed to the margins, but unfortunately, the Christian Conservative party, which caucuses with the AfD, will be getting the majority of the votes, unfortunately.

They're iffy in spots afaik, but at least the exodus of Sarah Wagenknecht (former leader of Die Linke) to form her own party with many of her wingut ilk (transphobic, pro-Putin, reactionaries with mansions) has cleaned up their politics a bit. Agenda looking pretty sound.

I think other left leaning parties should learn from this. They should focus on presenting better alternatives to the status quo instead of defending it or trying to be a light version of the right wing parties.
