Does support for Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs) affect the re-election prospects of Labour councillors in London?
Despite backlash/controversy, we find no evidence that publicly supporting LTNs had any negative impacts on electoral outcomes in 2022.

Why?
Maybe amidst loud opposition there is quiet support or indifference (polling agrees!).
Or for many voters, green transport infra is likely less important than housing, local economy etc.
But London is unique in the UK. In most other cities, LTNs have been removed or failed to progress beyond planning.
Is this because political risk is accurately perceived as lower in London?
More likely it relates to inner London's unique transport context: low car ownership + comprehensive public transport accessibility.
