I have one of those two-disc Bob Seger anthologies and it’s made vastly better by just skipping “Old Time Rock n Roll”.

Maybe it’s not even that bad of a song, just wildly overplayed and overexposed after “Risky Business”. Nevertheless, the damage has been done… just skip ahead to “Night Moves”.

Saw him on his farewell tour in 2019 and he spent a lot of the show paying tribute to his band and crew in a way that felt very poignant and sincere. He seems like a real mensch.

Bob Seger has a deep catalogue of great music. His album Seven (1974) came well before the Chevy Truck ads and is my absolute favorite. I’ve always referred to him (with affection) as “Community College Bruce Springsteen)
