Might lose my fucking mind and get really into sustainable agriculture to cope this year. Might just fucking crack under the weight of history happening every day and start growing corn in my front yard. Im workshopping here. We'll see.

I’ve been volunteering for mutual aid groups in my area. It’s something tangible I can do,and it’s helped me feel a little more connected to my community.
If you're gonna go like that, skip sustainable ag and join the real crazies in #permaculture. Soon you'll be pooping into a bucket of charcoal and bragging about it. There are like zero poop buckets at sustainable ag conferences.
Ok, but if you actually do this, I wanna see crop updates once in a while. Agriculture is really neat to me, and I haven't lived in a place where I can grow my own food yet, so it's cool seeing how others do it.
We have raspberry, strawberry and blueberry plants sectioned off next to another planter box with anything else we just want to have. Tomatoes, peppers of all kinds, miscellaneous veggies we just wanted to try all surrounded with flowers. Nature’s great when you wanna get away from all the stupid.
As someone who accidentally spawned a Breakdown Potato once: would highly recommend. Oddly satisfying seeing a potato just...eldritch monstrosity in the background.
I remember back in 3rd grade we did this agricultural class thing for science (Kansan here) and we put an “X” of toothpicks into a potato chunk, and suspended it above a clear plastic Dixie cup, and put them in the window to grow and watch the roots slowly engulf all the water in the cup.
Thats such an important step in making the space around you safer. Feeding yourself or being able to feed yourself and others is incredibly valuable in times like these

No but really it’s fun over here!
